Your Beach Shop in Margate: Everything for a South Coast Beach Day
You've packed the car, driven down to the KZN South Coast and the sea is right there. Then someone says it: "Where are the towels?"
It happens to almost every family on holiday. That's why Solly's Beach Shop has been on Marine Drive in Manaba Beach since 1994. We're a family beach shop, and our whole job is to get you onto the sand with everything you need, in one stop.
What you'll find in the shop
Beach towels. Our towel wall is what people remember us for. We stock big, thick luxury beach towels that cover a whole lilo, plus lighter towels for kids and quick-drying microfibre for the beach bag. If you're not sure which one to pick, ask us. We'll talk you through size, thickness and cotton versus microfibre.
Swimwear for the whole family. Swimming costumes, bikinis and swim shorts for adults, teens and kids, from simple and practical to something a bit more fun for the holiday photos.
Sun protection. Rash vests and UV suits for children, sun lotion and tanning oils. On a South Coast summer day the sun is strong, and a rash vest saves a lot of tears on day two of the holiday.
Beach fun. Boogie boards, buckets and spades, beach toys, pool noodles and beach chairs. The bits that turn an hour at the beach into a whole day.
Why families come back every year
We hear the same thing every December: "We looked everywhere and found it all here." Many families visit, compare and come back to buy, and many have been coming back holiday after holiday for years.
There are three reasons:
- One stop. Towel, costume, sun lotion, toys and a chair in one visit, so you're not driving between shops while the kids wait in the car.
- A price for the average family. We're not a surf boutique. We stock a wide range so you can kit out the family at your budget.
- Real help. We ask questions and help you choose. Which towel suits a toddler? Which rash vest size for a growing eight-year-old? We'll tell you honestly.
Where to find us
Solly's Beach Shop is on the corner of Marine Drive and Beach Road in Manaba Beach, Margate, right next to the Spar. If you're staying anywhere between Uvongo and Ramsgate, we're a short drive away.
